Premier League leaders Chelsea travel to Lisbon to resume their Champions League campaign after a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Aston Villa. The Blues will have been disappointed to have dropped 2 points after a 1-1 draw against Schalke at home in their previous Champions League game and should be determined to get their first victory come Tuesday. History suggests they could do so, as Chelsea managed to win the last 6 games against Portuguese sides and all by a 1-goal margin.
Chelsea travel to Lisbon to face Sporting Clube de Portugal in the second match of their Champions League group campaign. All four teams in Group G are level on points as the opening matches both ended in 1-1 draws, giving an extra incentive to win this tie.
Sporting CP are looking to extend their unbeaten home European record to an impressive 17 games. However, they have drawn four of their six league games so far this se
ason, and Mourinho will be hoping that another strong performance from his Chelsea side will be enough to clinch maximum points in Lisbon.

UEFA: Sporting vs Chelsea
30 August, Tuesday 2014
Estadio Jose Alvalade, at 18:45 GMT

Both teams will be aiming to get their first win of the competition after disappointing draws, which will ensure an interesting and a more open game. Though Sporting looks to have a thing for draws – they have drawn 5 games this season already – this game, by the looks of it, will see a winner. Jose Mourinho might not field their strongest 11 as they will have to face rivals Arsenal at home, in 4 days time, another game they will not want to lose, which makes me go for a Sporting Lisbon win on Tuesday. And a narrow victory at that.
